Decisions Decide Destiny – Slow Fade (Song meditation)

Blessed {is} the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. {ungodly: or, wicked}
But his delight {is} in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Psalms 1:1-2

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God {is} faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear {it}. {common…: or, moderate}

1 Corinthians 10:12-13

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed {is} willing, but the flesh {is} weak.
Matthew 26:41

The search for a relationship and intimacy with God often takes time effort, sacrifice and surrender to reach His love, attention, respect, honor and reward …
But when it comes to moving away from Him, by our sinful nature, failure becomes so easy, fast, simple and effortless.

Are the small and seemingly “harmless” temptations, is the second look that’s where sin begins in our minds.

The second time, that “second glances”, although in many cases, we do not immediately assume, because there we already sinned by guesses and false security that it only happened once … but if we do not watch out, it becomes a tremendous snowball.

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
2 Peter 2:20

And this is the worst states because the person has sinned so many times that practically already entered a state of apostasy, lack of faith and lack of fear of God.

It’s the moment we seem to be more confident in our salvation, that nothing will shake us, the enemy begins planting pitfalls regarding our weaknesses experienced by the old man.

As the song quoted here says:

“[…]Be careful little eyes what you see
It’s the second glance that ties your hands
As darkness pulls the strings.
Be careful little feet where you go
For it’s the little feet behind you that are sure to follow

It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white are turned to gray
And thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It’s a slow fade, it’s a slow fade

Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattering leads to compromises, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises leave broken hearts astray[…]

[…]The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you’re thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking[…]

[…]People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day[…]“

It doesn’t simply explodes out of nowhere, but occurs slowly.

“When black and white turns to gray”, describes well the start of a confusion in mind, a blur, where you, blind, can’t make difference between good and evil, just as I told before, it happens when you start “seeing” approval  while your feet walks nthrou the wrong path.

Christ teaches us and encourages us to watch, pray, fast, save us. In short, teaches us and keep us and seek His presence, His apostles try to always remember that, following the example of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians ch. 6, ver.11 to 18, equip ourselves about the armor of God.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7

This meditation was based on my learnings with that song ‘Slow Fade’, from Casting Crowns band, mainy, it was even enhanced when I watched at the video (look below) from Mark, song writer and vocalist of the band, explaining the song.

Even knowing that through true repentance is how we reach the grace and forgiveness of God in Christ Jesus, we shall not give chance to sin, not for a second, even since the beginning of temptation in our minds, but flee from it.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God
Ephesians 2:5

Watch out.
